Beaver Leader Needed
Mary Bugden (known by many of you as Mole) is our Beaver Leader and has fulfilled this role for many years. Hundreds of young people have had their first experience of Scouting and the 124th via Mary’s Beaver Scout Colony and her devotion to the role has been incredible. However, for family and personal reasons, Mary feels it is the right time to step back from the day to day leadership of Beaver Scouts and let someone else take on the Beaver Scout Leader role.
Due to their existing commitment to other roles within the Group, Helen Clements (who is also an Assistant Group Scout Leader) and Heather Buckley (who is also Group Treasurer) are unable to take on the Beaver Scout Leader role. We are therefore looking for someone to join the Friday night Beaver Scout Leader team with a view to taking on the Beaver Scout Leader role after a suitable transitional period of training and coaching provided by Mary and the other members of the Beaver Scout Leader team. Ideally this would enable the new Beaver Scout Leader to be fully in role for the new Scouting year (September 2016).
You can find out more about the Beaver Scout Leader role here: Beaver Scout Leader – The Scout Association
So, please spread the word amongst your family, friends and colleagues and ask anyone who may be interested in the Beaver Scout Leader role to contact us via this website.
Ultimately, without a Beaver Scout Leader it would be extremely difficult to maintain a viable Beaver Scout Colony and therefore finding the right person to lead this first experience of Scouting for our young people is incredibly important to the future of the 124th Scout Group.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Yours in Scouting,
Woody
